Modern Agricultural Post-harvest storage Technology, focused on: Grain Silos, Grain cleaning & drying plants, including flour mills, feed mills, cereal handling, flour blending, electrical installation & Automation.
Top quality grain storage technology of Turkey with ability in milling 35,000 tons of steel per- annum, exporting big time to Germany, Italy, Hungary, South Africa, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Tanzania, Kenya, Angola, Newzealand, India, Thailand, South Korea, Libya, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt, Iran, just to mention but a few.
In Brief, and as you aware ,Agriculture in Sub-Saharan Africa remains predominantly traditional and is concentrated in the hands of smallholders. The reliance of most African economies on agricultural production makes them particularly vulnerable if smallholder production is affected. Kenya is no stranger to this scenario. Post-harvest losses are a life changing and high cost to pay for small holder farmers in Africa. The cost is even greater for small holder farmers who have no safety net to buffer them from this livelihood risk. A report on post-harvest management (FAO, 2012) indicates that, “Post- harvest losses, are approximately estimated at (20 to 30) percent in storage alone and can be as high as 40 percent when including field, transportation, handling and processing losses. Because of the risk of losing significant sale value to their harvested crops, smallholder farmers have little wriggle room and are forced to sell their produce soon after harvesting, when the price is at its lowest. To address this inefficiency in the grain value chain, Agacli Silos of Turkey are manufactured under strict EU standards, of high quality, very high standards in the International Market, and it could be ideal if adopted by all cereal grain growing Countries in Africa. The ever-persistent maize farmer harvest challenges witnessed in Kenya over the years could be the thing of the past if Sub-Saharan Counties could adopt this technology.
